Akimbolt is two apps
One goes on your Mac, the other on your Android phone, and they work together. You need both. Get each below, then pair them once by scanning a code. It takes about a minute.
Get both apps
The Mac app needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The phone app needs Android 8.0 or later.
Pair them once
- Install both apps. The Mac app on your Mac, the phone app on your Android phone, using the buttons above.
- On your Mac, choose Pair a Phone. Open Akimbolt from the menu bar and pick Pair a Phone. A QR code appears on screen.
- Scan it with your phone. Open Akimbolt on your phone and point it at the code. That is the whole setup.
After that the two find each other on their own whenever both are on the same Wi-Fi. You do not scan again.
Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network for pairing. A phone hotspot your Mac has joined counts too. Nothing goes over the internet, so if the two cannot see each other on the network, they will not connect.
Stuck on a step? The Help & FAQ walks through pairing and what to check when a phone and Mac cannot find each other.
